As part of a measure to contain coronavirus, the state government has postponed the annual board examinations for 10th standard in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, said Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami in the assembly on Saturday.

Announcing the decision of the government, the Chief Minister said the examinations which were scheduled to be held from March 27 to April 13 has been rescheduled to begin on April 15.
However, the ongoing Plus 1 and Two examinations will be held as scheduled, Palanisamy said.
Leftover examinations for Plus One would be held on March 23, and March 26 and for Plus 2 on March 24 as scheduled, the Chief Minister said.
CM did not spell out on Central valuation of Plus 2, Plus 1 Answer papers
However, the Chief Minister did not spell out anything on the central valuation for the Plus 2 and 1 answer sheets which are scheduled to begin on March 31 and April 4, respectively. As per the earlier schedule, the Plus 2, Plus 1 results would be declared on April 24, May 14, respectively.
Expectation of Teaching fraternity
Meanwhile, the teaching fraternity expects the education department to organise a specious (1-metre distance) seating arrangement and other facilities as laid down by the Health and Family Department to prevent coronavirus at the central valuation venues across the state.
