Gujarat recorded 24 new coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the tally to 8,24,517, while no fresh death due to COVID-19 was reported from anywhere in the state, the health department said.

Also, 74 patients were discharged during the day, which pushed the number of recovered cases in the state to 8,13,998, it said. No new COVID-19 death was reported from anywhere in the state in the last 24 hours, keeping the coronavirus fatalities unchanged at 10,076, said the department in a release.
There are 443 active cases in Gujarat, out of which six patients are in critical condition, said the department.

Gujarat’s recovery rate now stands at 98.72 percent. As many as 3,92,953 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 on Monday, taking the number of doses administered so far in the state to 2,97,34,497, it said. A total of 2,19,997 vaccine doses were administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 to 44 years, the release said.
Out of 33 districts, 22 did not report any new COVID-19 case on Monday, it said. Ahmedabad and Surat districts reported five cases each, Vadodara four, Bharuch three. One each case was reported in the districts of Morbi, Banaskantha, Gir Somnath, Junagadh, Kheda, Rajkot and Valsad, said the department.
The Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu reported six new coronavirus cases and one recovery, officials said. With this, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the UT rose to 10,577, and the recoveries to 10,550, they said. There are 23 active cases in the UT, which has reported four deaths so far, the officials said.
