Gujarat on Tuesday reported 1,335 fresh COVID-19 cases, raising its total count of infections to 1,45,362, the state health department said.
With ten more persons, including four in Surat, succumbing to the infection, the cumulative toll in the state mounted to 3,522, it said.
While three fatalities occurred in Ahmedabad, one person died each in Gandhinagar, Rajkot, and Vadodara.
A total of 1,473 people were discharged in the day after treatment, taking the count of recoveries to 1,25,243, the department said.
The case recovery rate in the state now stands at 86.16 percent, the department said in a release.
The state now has 16,597 active cases.
At 281, Surat reported the highest number of new cases in the day in the state, followed by Ahmedabad (187 cases), Rajkot (147), and Vadodara (126).
Among other districts, Jamnagar reported 94 cases, Mehsana 49, Gandhinagar 48, Patan 37, Junagadh 35, Bhavnagar 34, Amreli 33, Bharuch 32, Banaskantha 31, Panchmahal 24, Morbi 19, Kutch and Surendranagar 18 each, Sabarkantha 14, Anand, Gir Somnath and Narmada 13 each, Mahisagar 12, Tapi 11, etc.
A total of 51,879 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, at the rate of 798.14 tests per day per million population, it said.
47,54,655 samples have been tested so far in the state, the department added.

Ahmedabad district’s COVID-19 tally almost 38,000
Ahmedabad district on Tuesday reported 187 new coronavirus positive cases, taking its total count of infections to 37,997, the Gujarat health department said.
With three patients succumbing to the infection in Ahmedabad city, the overall toll went up to 1,847, it said.
At 261, the number of recoveries surpassed the new infections in the district.
With 17 new infections, the count of cases in rural Ahmedabad rose to 2,568. A total of 2,438 patients have been discharged so far in rural Ahmedabad.
Ahmedabad city reported 246 recoveries against 170 fresh cases, while 15 more patients recovered in rural areas.
The city now has 3,308 active cases, the civic body said.
Earlier in the day, the municipal corporation tested 1,262 passengers who arrived at Kalupur railway station on three different trains and found 12 of them infected by a coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the number of micro containment areas in the city was further reduced to 168, it said.
