Gujarat reported 16 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, taking the tally to 8,25,101, while no fresh death due to the infection was recorded, the state health department said.
With 28 patients getting discharged during the day, the number of recovered cases in the state rose to 8,14,830, it said. The COVID-19 death toll in the state remained unchanged at 10,077 as no new fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, the department said in a release.
With this, the state’s COVID-19 recovery rate now stands at 98.76 percent, it said. Gujarat now has 194 active cases of which three patients are critical, the release said.
Ahmedabad reported the highest number of new cases at seven, followed by Surat and Vadodara three each, and Gir-Somnath, Jamnagar, and Navsari one case each, the department said.

As many as 3,24,168 people were on Wednesday vaccinated against COVID-19, taking the total number of doses administered so far in the state to 3,79,56,872, it said.
No new coronavirus case or recovery was reported in the last 24 hours in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, officials said. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Union Territory stands at 10,626, while 10,618 patients have recovered so far, the officials said. Four patients are currently under treatment, while an equal number of people have succumbed to the infection in the UT so far, they said.
