Gujarat has recorded 410 fresh coronavirus positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the count of infections to 2,59,097, the state health department said on Sunday.
With one person succumbing to the viral disease in the Mahisagar district, the overall toll in the state mounted to 4,376, the department said in a release.
A total of 704 people were discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the total count of recoveries in Gujarat to 2,50,056. The recovery rate went up to 96.51 percent, it said.
Gujarat is now left with 4,665 active cases. Of them, 48 patients are on ventilators, while others are stable.
Ahmedabad added 92 new cases during the day, the highest in the state for the day, which took the district”s tally to 61,512. As no death was reported there in the last 24 hours, the district”s fatality count remains 2,287.
As many as 159 patients from the district recovered and got discharged in the last 24 hours.
Surat district reported 85 new cases, taking its tally to 51,789, the release said, adding that 104 persons from the district also recovered during the day.
Vadodara and Rajkot districts recorded 86 and 59 new cases respectively.
In the adjoining Union Territory (UT) of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, no new cases emerged and two patients recovered.
Of the total 3,363 people who had tested positive for the infection in the UT since the outbreak, two have died, 3,356 have recovered and five cases are still active, a release by its administration said.
