Gujarat on Wednesday reported 475 fresh coronavirus positive cases, taking the count of infections to 2,71,245, the state health department said.

With the death of one more patient due to COVID-19 disease, the total number of fatalities in the state mounted to 4,412, the department said in a release.
A total of 358 people were discharged during the day, taking the count of overall recoveries in Gujarat to 2,64,195. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.40 percent.
On Wednesday, 60,093 beneficiaries, including senior citizens and the people in the age bracket of 45 to 59 years with co-morbidities, were administered the first dose of the COVID-9 vaccine in Gujarat.
With this, the total number of beneficiaries who have received the first shot of the vaccine in the state rose to 10,04,777, while the count of the beneficiaries who were administered both the doses increased to 2,16,779, the department said.
The number of active cases in Gujarat now stands at 2,638.
Among districts, Ahmedabad recorded 117 new cases during the day, Surat 96, Vadodara 94, Rajkot 65, Bhavnagar 14, Jamnagar 11, and Gandhinagar 10. Seven cases each were reported from Anand, Kutch, and Mehsana while Kheda and Panchmahal each added six cases.
In the Union Territory of Daman, Diu and Dadra, and Nagar Haveli, the caseload is 3,379 and the number of recoveries is 3,372, officials said.
The UT is left with five active cases while the total death toll remained two, they said.
