Gujarat reported 810 new coronavirus cases on Monday, taking COVID-19 tally to 2,42,655, the state health department said.
With six new fatalities, the state’ COVID-19 death toll rose to 4,288, it said.
The number of recovered cases rose to 2,28,144 after 1,016 more patients were discharged from hospitals, said the department in a release.
With this, the state’s recovery rate increased to 94. 02 per cent, it said.
As many as 52,906 tests were conducted for COVID-19 on Monday, pushing the number of samples tested so far in the state to 94,90,011, the release said.

Ahmedabad sees 174 cases, 3 deaths; 180 recover
The number of COVID-19 cases in Ahmedabad touched 57,140 on Monday after 174 people were detected with the infection, while the day also saw three deaths and 180 recoveries, an official said.
The toll in the district is 2,240, while the number of people discharged stands at 51,961, he said.
Of the seven zones of Ahmedabad city, the west zone has the highest number of active cases at 402, followed by the north-west zone with 388 and south-west zone with 375, a civic official said.
The number of micro containment areas in AMC limits rose by six to touch 19, he added.
Rural Ahmedabad has a caseload of 3,883, of which 3,805, or 98 per cent, have been discharged, while 60 patients have died.
149 cases, 1 death, 147 recoveries in Surat
Surat reported 149 COVID-19 cases and one death on Monday, taking the tally to 48,795 and toll to 1,133, while the day also saw 147 people getting discharged, an official said.
Surat city accounted for 121 of the new cases and 115 of the people who recovered, while the rest were from rural areas, he said.
“Surat city now has 34,919 people who have been discharged, a recovery rate of 95.51 per cent. Currently, 8,793 people are quarantined and 229 hospitalized,” a Surat Municipal Corporation official said.
“Out of this, 71 are in civic hospitals and SMIMER, which have bed occupancy of 1.7 and 4 per cent respectively,” the SMC official added.
In rural Surat, Kamrej taluka reported six new cases, raising its tally to 2,527, followed by Choryasi with 2,400 cases.
