Gujarat’s COVID-19 tally rose to 2,53,161 with the addition of 602 new cases on Tuesday, the state health department said.
With three more deaths, the total number of fatalities in the state increased to 4,350, it said.
A total of 855 people were discharged during the day, taking the count of recoveries in Gujarat to 2,41,372, the department said, adding that the COVID-19 case recovery rate of the state has improved to 95.34 per cent.
Gujarat is now left with 7,439 active cases.
The health department did not share the data of the new tests conducted in Gujarat for coronavirus detection and the total number of samples tested so far.
One patient died each in Ahmedabad, Botad and Vadodara during the day.
At 133, Ahmedabad reported the highest number of new cases in the state in the day, followed by Surat which reported 121 cases, Vadodara 110, and Rajkot 72.
Among other districts, Gandhinagar reported 17 new cases, Bhavnagar 14, Anand 12, Bharuch, Dahod and Panchmahal 11 each, Kheda 10, Jamnagar and Junagadh nine each, etc.

In the Union Territory (UT) of Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, no new COVID-19 case or recovery was reported during the day.
The caseload in the UT stands at 3,354 and the count of recoveries is 3,347, officials said.
Ahmedabad sees 133 new cases; 170 recoveries
Ahmedabad district recorded 133 new cases of COVID-19, the highest in the state on Tuesday, raising the count of infections in the region to 60,302, an official from the state health department said.
While one patient succumbed to the infection, 170 were discharged from various hospitals in the district following their recovery, the official said.
With this, the toll in the district stood at 2,272 and the number of recoveries reached 54,264, he said.
Ahmedabad city reported 129 new cases and 167 recoveries, while the rural parts reported four new cases and three recoveries, a release stated.
According to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, the city currently has 2,318 active cases, of which 430 are in the south zone, followed by 420 and 366 in the west and northwest zones respectively.
The city now has four micro-containment areas, the AMC said.
The tally of infections in rural Ahmedabad stood at 3,949, of which 3,878 patients have recovered from the infection, an official said.
