Gujarat reported 510 new coronavirus positive cases on Thursday, taking the state’s tally to 25,660, while the fatality count mounted to 1,592 with the death of 31 more patients, the health department said.

As many as 389 patients were discharged from hospitals, which took the number of recovered persons to 17,829, it said.

There are currently 6,239 active cases in the state, the department said, adding that 61 of these patients are on ventilator support.
Of the Thursday’s count of 510 new cases, Ahmedabad reported 317, taking the district’s total to 17,946.

The district also reported 22 out of 31 total COVID-19 deaths reported in the state on the day.
Apart from 22 deaths in Ahmedabad, six patients succumbed to the infection in Surat, while one each in Patan, Gandhinagar, and Chhota Udepur, the department said.
With 82 new cases, the total of coronavirus positive cases in Surat rose to 2,861, while the tally in Vadodara grew by 43 to 1,725.
Of the 19 other districts that reported new cases on Thursday, the number of patients in Gandhinagar rose by 11, Bharuch nine, Jamnagar seven, Anand six, Aravalli, and Patan five each, among others.

As many as 2,10,803 people were quarantined in the state, of whom 2,06,770 are in-home quarantine and the rest in various private and government facilities.

The state has so far tested 3,08,744 samples for coronavirus.

The coronavirus positive cases in Ahmedabad grew to 17,946 after 317 people tested positive for the infection on Thursday, the state health department said.
As the virus claimed 22 more lives during the day, the district’s death toll rose to 1,275, it said.
The number of recovered patients in Ahmedabad went up to 12,561 after 281 people were discharged from hospitals, it said.
Ahmedabad reported 317 new COVID-19 cases, out of the 510 in Gujarat on Thursday. The district also reported 22 out of the total 33 fatalities in the state.
