The coronavirus tally in Gujarat rose to 2,54,314 on Thursday with the addition of 570 new cases, while 737 more patients recovered from the infection, the state health department said.
With three more deaths, the total COVID-19 fatalities in the state increased to 4,357, it said.
The number of recovered cases went up to 2,42,901 with 737 more patients getting discharged from hospitals during the day, said the department in a release.
With this, the state”s recovery rate rose further to 95.51 percent, it said.
Ahmedabad reported 112 new cases and 184 recoveries. The count of COVID-19 infections in the district rose to 60,530 and recovered cases to 54,618, the release said.
Ahmedabad also recorded one COVID-19 death, taking its fatalities to 2,275.
In Surat, 98 new cases took the tally to 50,950, while 140 patients recovered in the district.
Vadodara and Rajkot recorded 104 and 85 cases, respectively.
The state’s four districts – Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot, account for over 68 percent of the total cases.
Among other districts, Bharuch reported 18 new cases, Gandhinagar 15, Mehsana 14, Junagadh 13, Dahod 12, Kutch 11, Anand 10, and Gir Somnath nine.
Out of three deaths, one each was reported in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Vadodara.
There are now 7,056 active cases in Gujarat, the release said.
In the Union Territory of Daman, Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, two new cases and one recovery were reported on Thursday, taking the COVID-19 tally to 3,357 and recoveries to 3,349, the local administration said.
There are now six active cases in the UT, which has so far reported two deaths.
