As many as 1,420 new cases of coronavirus infection were found in Gujarat in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s caseload to 1,94,402, the health department said on Friday evening.
The daily figure of new infections has been increasing in the state. On Thursday, Gujarat added 1,340 cases, while on November 12, it had reported 1,120 cases.

The death toll due to coronavirus reached 3,837 with seven more patients succumbing on Friday, the department added. At the same time, 1,040 patients also recovered during this period.
Three patients died in Ahmedabad, two in Surat, and one each in Patan and Rajkot districts.
Ahmedabad reported 327 new infections in 24 hours, followed by 246 in Surat, 155 in Vadodara, 137 in Rajkot, 86 in Gandhinagar, 54 in Banaskantha, and 52 in Mehsana district.
In view of the rising number of cases, the Gujarat government on Friday announced a night curfew between 9:00 pm and 6:00 am in Surat, Rajkot, and Vadodara cities from Saturday.
A night curfew has been already announced in Ahmedabad city from 9 pm next Monday. In addition, A 57-hour-long weekend curfew would begin from 9 pm in Ahmedabad city on Friday night and end at 6 am on November 23.
The number of active cases in Gujarat crossed 13,000 on Friday.
A many as 91.31 percent patients have recovered so far, the state government said.
With over 69,900 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, the per million average was 1,044.63 tests.
Till now, the state government has conducted 71.01 lakh tests, said the release.
Nine new cases of coronavirus infection emerged during the day while one COVID-19 patient was discharged in the adjoining Union Territory of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
As per the UT administration, 3,288 persons have tested positive for coronavirus so far. Of these, two died, 3,247 have recovered and 39 cases are still active.

Ahmedabad records 327 new cases; three more deaths
As many as 327 persons tested positive for coronavirus in Ahmedabad district on Friday, taking the tally of infections to 46,595, an official from the state health department said.
Of the latest cases, Ahmedabad city alone accounted for 305 infections, while 22 were detected in the rural parts of the district, the official said.
At least 270 patients were discharged from various hospitals in the district, while three died of the infection in the city during the day, he said.
With this, the number of recoveries has risen to 41,286 and the toll reached 1,955, he added.
In a bid to contain the viral spread, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has decided to impose a 57-hour curfew in Ahmedabad city, from 9 pm on Friday to 6 am on Monday.
Starting November 23, a daily night curfew will come into force in the city, which would begin at 9 pm and end at 6 am the next day.

High court to remain closed on Nov 23-24
The Gujarat High Court will remain shut on Monday & Tuesday, November 23-24, in the wake of complete curfew in Ahmedabad from Friday night to Monday early morning and then night curfew for an indefinite time.
With covid cases increasing extensively, Ahmedabad corporation has imposed the curfew for next 60 hours.

ID proof must for air, rail passengers, and essential service staff
Passengers arriving at and leaving from Amdavad airport and railway station shall be permitted movement provided they have Valid tickets and ID proof during two days of Curfew in Amdavad city.
All essential services like milk, drug stores, municipal services, petrol & gas stations, Pharma Companies, electrical & water utilities shall operate and personnel connected with their operations shall be allowed to move on possession of valid ID documents.
