Puducherry Lt Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has inaugurated the Continuous Medical Education (CME) programme on Tuesday.
The online CME programme on the topic ‘Covid-19: Update’ for medical fraternity was organised by the Indira Gandhi Medical College Research Institute (IGMCRI) and conceptualised by Puducherry Health Secretary Dr T Arun.
In her presidential address, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan stressed the medical fraternity to update their knowledge on medical education on daily basis. She also explained in detail on the Plasma Therapy being under practice in Telangana. She said people recovered from corona liberally donating Plasma in Telangana and lauded the police force, who had donated in large numbers.
Dr Vivekanandan, Professor of Medicine, JIPMER spoke about the medical management and recent trends in the management of COVID patients.
Dr Anusha Cherian, Additional Professor of Anaesthesiology, JIPMER, spoke about oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation in COVID patients. The programme was attended by over 200 doctors from all parts of the Union Territory, who are involved in providing COVID care.
Dr C Udayashankar, Director in-charge IGMCRI welcomed the gathering. Dr Kavita Vasudevan, Professor of Community Medicine coordinated the programme.
