Indian Super League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday announced they have opened their third overseas cricket academy. The Super Kings Academy’s third international destination is Sydney, Australia, with the first two international academies in Dallas, USA and Reading, United Kingdom.
Known for iconic players like Michael Hussey and Shane Watson, CSK’s new venture follows the success of their academies in the USA and UK.

Located at Cricket Central in Sydney Olympic Park, the state-of-the-art facility will offer year-round training for boys and girls, starting September. CSK’s CEO, KS Viswanathan, emphasized the significance of extending their journey with Australia, a nation celebrated for its strong sporting culture and cricketing legacy.
The academy aims to nurture emerging talent and provide comprehensive coaching through world-class facilities, a robust curriculum, and exchange programs. Anand Karuppiah, Director of Echelon Sports Management, highlighted the cultural and cricketing ties between India and Australia, expressing excitement about unearthing new cricketing talents in Sydney.
The statement added that there will also be exchange programmes that will be facilitated between the academies soon. “Geographical boundaries are shrinking rapidly in cricket over the last few years. With presence in India, USA, UK and now Australia, we have the opportunity to develop the next generation of cricketers through our world class facilities, strong coaching curriculum, exchange programmes and more,” he added.
