Life and livelihood were severely affected due to the flood-like situation in and around Valsad during the recent heavy rains that lashed large parts of Gujarat.
To wipe out the tears of flood-hit poor, Atul Foundation, the CSR arm of Atul Ltd, joined hands with Valsad district administration to provide basic necessities to them. The team served more than 9,500 food meals and around 1,300 water bottles to those stranded in flood waters, a spokesperson of the Foundation said.
The Foundation team has also been arranging for 100 raincoats and 1,000 blankets to those in need. Around 40 tarpaulin sheets are being distributed in Atul and Haria villages to those whose houses were damaged.
