Cycle Pure Agarbathi, India’s leading agarbathi manufacturer, has celebrated its 75th year of carving a niche in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. The brand is committed to quality and tradition, fulfilling 12 million prayers across the country with its natural and ethically sourced agarbathi, said Arjun Ranga, Managing Director, Cycle Pure Agarbathi here on Monday.

Speaking to media on the sidelines of Digital Deccan Conclave, organised by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) Mr Arjun Ranga said, “At Cycle Pure Agarbathi we have enabled 12 million prayers over the past 75 years. The brand has consistently evolved to cater to the well-being of individuals around the world, and enhance the spiritual journeys of devotees. Through our CSR and sustainability initiatives, we are fortunate for the opportunity to contribute to communities around India. In the coming years, we aim to continue transforming people’s lives, one agarbathi at a time.”

Elaborating further he said, “Founded in 1948, Cycle Pure Agarbathi has successfully evolved to establish a strong presence in India and abroad, earning trust and loyalty of millions of devotees. The brand, under NR Group, has since diversified into various business categories like functional air care products through ‘Lia’ for room fresheners and car fresheners, wellness home fragrance products through ‘IRIS Home Fragrances’ under ‘Ripple Fragrances,’ floral extracts with NESSO, and Rangsons Technologies.”
Giving back to the society
With the aim of giving back to the society, NR Foundation, the group’s non-profit charitable trust, was founded to empower women and underprivileged individuals by earmarking a share of profits towards pressing societal challenges The foundation is renowned for its contributions towards education, health, art, culture, and services for the physically challenged. The launch of the Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently-Abled by the NR Foundation was a significant milestone for the foundation, serving to significantly elevate the lives of visually impaired girls from low-income families.

The foundation has supported 40 differently-abled students in Tamil Nadu with scholarships to further their educational goals. These students will continue to receive support from the foundation for the next five years, he added.
The success of the initiative in Chennai further provided impetus for the firm to extend to other regions in India.
Women empowerment
Cycle Pure Agarbathi also strives to empower women, with over 80% of its manufacturing workforce consisting of women. In Tamil Nadu alone, the company has expanded its female workforce to 3,000. This ongoing initiative includes creating new employment opportunities for women, providing training programs, and supporting women-led entrepreneurs in the agarbathi industry.
Strides towards sustainability
In the effort to create a better environment for future generations, Cycle Pure Agarbathi has taken significant strides towards sustainability, and is currently the only agarbathi manufacturer to reduce their carbon footprint.

Additionally, the company has implemented energy-efficient processes and waste management systems in their manufacturing units to significantly minimize their carbon footprint by 2026. The brand is also actively working towards eliminating plastic by transitioning to eco-friendly materials such as recyclable paper and biodegradable alternatives for their product packaging.
