With an objective to provide employment by training youth who are less educated or who have dropped out of school, Headway Business Solutions LLP on Tuesday announced its foray into education sector by opening Jewellery Vidyapth in Ahmedabad, said Paresh Rajpara, chairman and managing director.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Rajpara said, “Gem and Jewellery industry currently employing 5 million and as per survey by NSDC and ICRA, there will be requirement of additional 4 million people in next 10 years. India can create pool of talented people required for Indian growth and also support the world with fresh talent. To ensure that India in general and Gujarat in particular create infrastructure to train industry-ready youth, we are launching Jewellery Vidyapith in Ahmedabad on August 1. Under our company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, we will impart training to train over 1 lakh youth in the age group of 18 and above in Gujarat. This training will be free and there is no educational criteria. Our course will cover all the areas and functions of the industry such as processing, jewellery manufacturing, leadership, customer relation, communication, body language, personality development, knowledge on wholesale, retail and exports, including accounting etc. Our team of experts will use state-of-the-art software for training the youth of self-reliant India.”
“This three-month training will be imparted through online and offline mode. We will hold 15 to 20 sessions with each session running for two hours. The company will incur around Rs 20,000 expense per trainee which will be borne by the company. After the completion of training, the students will be issued certificates. I have 20 years of experience in the jewellery industry in coaching over 2,000 establishments for their staffers. Through this network we will help the youth to get placement and earn a monthly income of Rs 15,000 to Rs 50,000 per month. This training will be imparted only in Gujarati so as to cater to the needs of our youth,” Rajpara added.
“The programme will equip the students well with the knowledge and skills essential to pursue a career in the gem and jewellery industry. All youth are urged to use this golden opportunity and help in nation-building. I hope you can help the trade and, in turn, the consumer experience.”
