Tata Projects on Wednesday announced the launch of worker upskilling initiatives aimed at empowering their workforce and promoting sustainable practices within the construction industry. These initiatives are designed to provide comprehensive training, accredited certification, and financial support to our workers, while also benefiting the company through improved site management and a skilled talent pool.

The purpose of introducing these initiatives is to empower workers by giving them the opportunity to become skilled construction experts and thereby improve their employability. Through this initiative, our workforce has a chance to not just upskill themselves but also advance their careers and opening doors to higher positions and better-paying jobs.
The frontline workforce of the Construction Industry will benefit from comprehensive Work Integrated Training that offers combined hands-on experience with classroom learning, ensuring a well-rounded skill set. Upon completion, our workforce receives certificates, diplomas and degrees accredited by the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) and Kalinga University, enhancing their credibility and employability.
For Tata Projects, the initiative emphasizes sustainable site management by instilling principles of sustainability and efficiency in construction practices. The training program aims to embrace skilled talent within the construction industry, contributing to its growth and development. Through this initiative, we plan to achieve a skilled, certified workforce, diversity in the workforce, and a skilled trainer pool. Looking ahead, we aim to create a pool of skilled foremen, a talent pool for construction supervisors, and establish a cadre for the upcoming projects. These programs will provide significant benefits to employees’ careers by equipping them with the necessary expertise to excel in the construction industry, thereby securing a more stable future.

Addressing reporters at its CMRL project site at Madhavaram in Chennai, Mr Ramesh, Project Head, CMRL, Tata Projects Limited and Deven Sanjeev Moya, General Manager – Human Resources, Tata Projects Ltd said “Work Integrated Training that offers combined hands-on experience with classroom learning, ensuring a well-rounded skill set. On completion of three year integrated course that includes on the job training and class room learning at 13 sites across the nation, our workforce receives certificates, diplomas and degrees accredited by the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) and Kalinga University. After completion of the course, there is no restriction on them to continue their job in Tata Projects, they can fly anywhere,” the officials added.
