The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with grandeur on Thursday at the Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), a unit of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), at Avadi, Chennai.

Rajesh Kumar, Director of CVRDE hoisted the national flag. After hoisting the flag, Rajesh Kumar emphasized the importance of self-reliance in defense technologies and reiterated CVRDE’s commitment to supporting the nation’s defense capabilities. He also acknowledged the dedication and contributions of the CVRDE workforce towards national progress.
The event also featured a special ceremony where the Director presented medals to distinguished Army personnel for their exemplary service. Senior Scientists, Officers, Staff, and Support Teams from CVRDE participated in the celebration, exchanging greetings and expressing their patriotism on this significant day.
The Independence Day event at CVRDE highlighted the unity and collective resolve of those working in defense research, reaffirming their commitment to advancing India’s defense infrastructure and technological prowess.
