The Cyber Club of Prin MC Shah Commerce College, under the Navgujarat Group of Colleges, organised a series of inter-college competitions aimed at strengthening cyber security awareness and responsible digital behaviour among youth. The initiative was conducted in association with the Cyber Security Awareness and Creative Hand Holding (CAWACH) Kendra, Education Department, Government of Gujarat.

The event reflected the core aim of the Cyber Club—to sensitise students about cyber threats, promote ethical use of technology, and build a culture of digital safety through creative learning and peer engagement.
Inter-college competitions including Essay Writing, Poster Making, Collage Making, Quiz and Rangoli were held on cyber awareness themes such as online safety, data privacy, cyber fraud prevention and responsible social media usage. Students from various colleges participated enthusiastically, combining creativity with strong social messaging.
Welcoming the gathering, Principal Dr ND Shah underlined the growing relevance of cyber literacy among students.

“In today’s digital era, cyber awareness is not optional—it is essential. Institutions must actively educate students to protect themselves and others from cyber risks,” he said.
Cyber Club Coordinator Prof Dr Margi Desai elaborated on the club’s mission and activities.
“The Cyber Club aims to empower students with knowledge, vigilance and ethical values in the digital space. With the support of CAWACH Kendra, we strive to promote cyber safety and responsible online conduct among both students and faculty,” she noted.
Chief guest Dr Piyush Patel, Registrar of Gujarat University, encouraged students to balance innovation with caution.

“Technology should be used wisely and responsibly. Awareness, alertness and safe cyber practices are the best defence against growing cyber threats,” he advised.
The day-long programme concluded with a valedictory and prize distribution ceremony, recognising winners and runners-up from participating colleges.
The winners were Qureshi Aisha Imranbhai (Essay Writing), Mevada Helly (Poster Making), Dave Maitri (Collage Making), Solanki Harshrajsinh Surendrasinh (Quiz) and Parmar Leena (Rangoli), along with deserving runners-up.
