“Naari Shakti – Swacchta se Suraksha Tak”, a unique campaign of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) for inclusiveness of fisherwomen for the purpose of cleanliness and protection of beaches has already covered Jaffrabad and Veraval by the end of its second day on Thursday. Apart from fishing community, the event is garnering overwhelming response from the District Administration and local populace.
The campaign which was flagged off on Wednesday from Gandhinagar by Kavita Harbola, Regional President Tatrakshika (North West), reached Veraval on its second day. Wives of ICG personnel and woman Officers interacted with women of fishing community at Veraval and nearby villages. The event was attended by Regional President Tatrakshika, Suman Nala, Integrated Financial Advisor at the Indian Coast Guard Porbandar and woman officials of local administration. Over 350 fisherwomen attended the event, wherein, they were sensitized on secure seas, beach cleanliness and personal hygiene.
