TransStadia University on Friday hosted its maiden Convocation Ceremony, celebrating the academic accomplishments of its undergraduate and postgraduate students and marking a defining moment in the young institution’s journey of reimagining higher education in India.

The ceremony honoured graduating students for their dedication, perseverance, and readiness to step into the professional world, even as university leadership underscored the larger responsibility that comes with education in a rapidly evolving global landscape.

Addressing the graduating cohort, TransStadia University Founder President Udit Sheth said the convocation was not merely about degrees, but about shaping individuals ready to lead change.

“As the graduates step into the world, they are merely as holders of degrees but thinkers, innovators, and responsible citizens ready to shape what lies ahead. The future belongs to those who are prepared not only with knowledge, but with clarity of purpose, adaptability, and courage to lead change,” he said.

Sheth added that TransStadia University was conceived as a future-ready institution, designed to blend academic rigour with experiential learning, strong industry engagement, and values-driven leadership.

He said TransStadia University takes pride in empowering its students and preparing them to embark on meaningful professional and personal journeys.

The unconventional vision behind the university was echoed by TransStadia University Provost Dr. Adille Sumariwalla, who recalled the early scepticism surrounding the institution’s founding philosophy.

“When an institution that blends sport, education, technology and leadership was conceived, many said it was quite unconventional and too ambitious. Institutions are not built in comfort but with conviction and progress comes when existing systems are challenged and better ones built,” he said.

Addressing the graduating students directly, Dr. Sumariwalla reminded them that their academic success carried a deeper obligation.

“Your degree today is not a destination – it is a responsibility,” Dr. Sumariwalla told the graduating students. “The world does not need more spectators. It needs builders. It needs professionals who are curious, ethical, resilient, and useful. If you work hard, keep learning beyond the classroom, and trust the process – even when it feels slow or unconventional, you will find your place.

“And remember to build ladders for those who come after you. India’s next phase of growth in sport, education, and enterprise will not be driven by individuals chasing titles, but by professionals committed to building systems that serve many,” Dr. Sumariwalla said, alluding to India’s aspirations of hosting the Olympic Games in 2036.

Three students – Rathod Heli Kamlesh, Master of Science (Sports and Event Management), School of Sports Studies; Boricha Prit Subhashbhai, Bachelor of Business Administration, School of Management and Mishra Aditya Sanjay, Bachelor of Science (Computer Science), School of Computer Studies and Emerging Technology were awarded Certificates of Academic Excellence.

Faculty members, university leadership, parents, and well-wishers gathered to mark the milestone—celebrating not just the completion of an academic phase, but the beginning of new professional and personal journeys grounded in integrity, innovation, and responsibility.
