Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ team was dragged to court by Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Indian Premiere League team. The RCB counsel approached the court after they found out that the film has a scene in which a killer is sporting the RCB jersey. The two parties have now decided to settle the matter outside court.
Delhi High Court on Monday directed the makers of Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Jailer’ to alter a scene in the movie which features the jersey of the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore.
In the scene, a contract killer, who is wearing the jersey of RCB is seen making a sexist comment to a woman. Pointing out to the particular scene RCS’s counsel said in the court that the makers did not get the permission of the team to use their jersey and that the scene can hurt their brand.
Later, the counsels of both parties told the court that they have decided to solve the matter outside court. Sun Pictures, the production house behind ‘Jailer’ have promised to alter the scene in the digital edition of the film. The makers assured the court that only the altered version of the film will be telecasted on television and OTT platforms.
The makers also informed the court that the film will be altered for cinema halls as well and they will do it by September 1.
“The Defendants as also all parties acting for or on their behalf including their distribution network shall be bound by the above terms and conditions. With effect from 1st September, 2023, in the theatrical depiction of the film Jailer the RCB team jersey shall stand edited/altered,” said the order of Delhi High Court.

Superstar on Tuesday walked down the memory lane as he visited the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus stand, in the city where he once worked as a bus conductor.
The 72-year-old top actor took everyone by surprise and spent a few minutes with overjoyed BMTC drivers, conductors and other staff at the bus stand at Jayanagar.
Shivaji Rao Gaikwad was once working as bus conductor in this city, before the legendary Tamil director, the late K Balachander spotted him, christened him Rajinikanth and gave the actor his first break in the hit flick ‘Aboorva Ragangal’ in 1975. The film also starred Kamal Haasan among others.
The moment the actor, who is said to have turned nostalgic, made an appearance, the Traffic Transit Management Center (TTMC) staff of the BMTC greeted him and milled around him. He chatted with them for a while and also posed for selfies.

The actor also paid a visit to Raghavendra Swami Math here. Rajinikanth had donned the titular role in the movie ‘Sri Raghavendrar’, a biography of the 16th-17th century saint-poet of Madhva Sampradaya of Dvaita Vedanta philosophy.
Sources said Rajinikanth spent his childhood in Bengaluru, and lived in the city till the age of 22 before shifting to Chennai to pursue his film career.
Prior to that, he worked as a conductor in the erstwhile Bangalore Transport Services (BTS), which is now known as BMTC.
