Delhi police on Thursday detained more than one hundred workers of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimin (AIMIM), including its Delhi unit president Kaleemul Hafeez and spokesperson Mumtaz Alam Rizvi.
They had gone to Jantar Mantar to hold a peaceful demonstration to seek arrest of expelled BJP leader Naveen Kumar Jindal and suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma and editor of Opindia.com.

While Nupur had made disparaging comments against Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) and his wife Hazrat Ayesha during a TV debate on May 26, Jindal had made blasphemous remarks through his twitter handle.
Rizvi said that AIMIM leaders had the police permission to hold a rally at Jantar Mantar. However, they were not allowed to go the spot. Instead, police asked them to go to mandir Marg Police station and submit a memorandum about their demand.
When AIMIM leaders and workers reached the police station, they were detained.
