NE EDUCATION BUREAU
AHMEDABAD, MAR 6

At a time when climate volatility, rapid urbanisation and emerging technologies are redefining the built environment, the Faculty of Architecture at CEPT University is inviting applications for its prestigious postgraduate programmes aimed at shaping the next generation of architects, designers and researchers.

Registrations for the 2026 academic cycle are open until March 31, 2026, offering aspiring architects an opportunity to pursue advanced studies through a choice-based curriculum, global exposure opportunities and merit-based scholarships.

As cities expand and environmental challenges intensify, architecture today demands professionals who can combine creativity with scientific precision, cultural sensitivity and technological expertise. CEPT’s postgraduate programmes are designed to respond to these emerging realities by offering deep specialisation and hands-on engagement with real-world problems.

At CEPT, postgraduate education is conceived not merely as an extension of undergraduate study but as a space for rigorous exploration, independent thinking and meaningful professional engagement.

Studios function as dynamic laboratories where small cohorts collaborate closely with expert tutors to investigate complex architectural challenges. Students develop ideas through sustained critique, experimentation and prototype testing, while engaging with live projects and contemporary debates shaping the built environment.

Participants also gain access to CEPT’s extensive infrastructure, including advanced workshops, software tools, material laboratories, archives, and a comprehensive design library, along with a wide professional network spanning national and international experts.

Explaining the philosophy behind the programmes, Sameep Padora, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at CEPT University, said: “Postgraduate education in architecture today must go beyond skill acquisition — it must cultivate clarity of thought, technical rigour and the courage to take positions. At CEPT, our studios are structured as spaces of deep inquiry where students confront real constraints, test ideas against material and context, and develop an independent architectural voice. We are committed to nurturing professionals who can critically engage with the complexities of climate, culture and construction, technology, and lead meaningful change in the built environment.”

Six specialised programmes

The Faculty of Architecture offers six postgraduate programmes, each addressing critical dimensions of contemporary architecture and design.

Master’s in Landscape Architecture (MLA) prepares professionals to work at the intersection of landscape, ecology and society. Moving beyond traditional garden design, the programme addresses India’s environmental and urban challenges by examining landscape as a dynamic system—from regional watersheds to urban public spaces. Graduates join a global alumni network of more than 500 professionals working in practice, research and academia.

Master’s in Interior Design (MID) is widely recognised for its interdisciplinary approach, blending hands-on design practice with exposure to emerging industry technologies. The programme offers global learning opportunities through international exchanges, strong industry collaborations and a robust placement ecosystem.

Master’s in Architecture (Housing Design) addresses one of India’s most pressing spatial challenges—creating housing that is socially responsive, economically viable and environmentally sustainable. The programme’s fully choice-based curriculum allows students to build personalised academic pathways while engaging with real-world housing challenges through collaborations with practitioners and international workshops.

Master’s in Conservation and Regeneration (MCR) explores conservation as an ecological and creative act, enabling responsible reinterpretation of historic environments amid contemporary development pressures. The programme integrates architectural design, urban thinking, historical research and technological innovation to prepare professionals for the evolving field of conservation practice.

Master’s in Architectural Tectonics (MAT) investigates the relationship between architecture and technology, examining how construction detailing, materials and structure shape architectural expression. Through drawing, computation and full-scale prototyping, students explore how technical mastery transforms construction into meaningful architecture.

Master’s in Architectural History and Research (MAHR) cultivates historical insight and analytical depth to understand the evolution of the built environment. Through research, archives, drawing and writing, students develop critical perspectives that support careers in research, conservation, publishing, curation, education and policy.

Learning beyond the classroom

What distinguishes CEPT’s postgraduate education is its integration of academic rigour with real-world engagement. Students participate in summer and winter schools, interdisciplinary studios, industry interactions and international workshops that broaden their professional perspectives.

The programmes also encourage students to confront pressing issues such as climate change, housing shortages, heritage conservation, technological transformation and urban development.

For aspiring architects seeking deeper engagement with design and research, CEPT positions postgraduate study as a transformative experience that prepares professionals not only to practice architecture but also to shape the future of the built environment.

Applications for the 2026 academic cycle are currently open. Detailed information on eligibility, programme structure and scholarships is available on the university website.

“For those seeking more than just another credential, for those seeking depth, position, and the ability to engage meaningfully with the built environment, we invite you to apply,” the university said.
