AHMEDABAD, JULY 25
Fifty-three golfers participated in the 7th of the 11-round Gulmohar Golfer of the Year (GGOY), which took place at Gulmohar Greens: Golf and Country Club as a part of MP Financial Service-Go Golf 2022 calendar on Saturday and Sunday, July 23 and 24.
The golfers enthusiastically participated in the latest round despite the heavy rains in the city, but incidentally, they didn’t have to face any rain disruption.
Nirav Prajapati emerged as the winner in the 0-14 handicap category with his effort of 84 gross and 36 points. Brigadier AK Singh was the category runner up with 82 gross and 34 points.
Parag Kamdar was the winner in the 15-23 handicap category with 86 gross and 33 points, and Dilip Kumar Adhyapok was the runner up with 94 gross and 31 points.
Satish Kumar topped the charts in the 24-36 handicap category with 92 gross and 36 points. Dr. Siddharth Mavani was the runner up with 96 gross and 34 points.
The three winners took home 3,000 reward points for their performance, while the runner ups were awarded 1,800 points. In all, 25 golfers from all three categories earned reward points.
Three skill competitions were also played alongside the latest golfing round. Nitin Chaudhari won the skill competition for the longest drive at hole # 1 with a shot of 229 yards Ravi Shah won the competition for closest to pin at hole # 3 by landing the ball just six feet away from the pin. Sanjeev Khilauriya won the third skill competition for the second shot closest to pin at hole # 9 by landing the ball seven feet and eight inches from the hole.
