A peaceful protest and public demonstration was held by devotees and members of the Kashi Vishwanath Mahadev Temple Trust at Shri Hande’s Mohalla in Raikhad, Ahmedabad, on Sunday, condemning an act of vandalism at the temple premises allegedly committed by a person identified as Popat Kahaar.

According to temple authorities, the incident, which took place on September 27, involved damage to the temple property, an act that deeply hurt the sentiments of devotees. Around 100–125 people, including members of the temple trust, local residents, and Shiva devotees, participated in the peaceful protest, chanting prayers and expressing their disapproval of the incident.
Temple trustees stated that this was not the first such attempt by the same individual to cause harm to the temple premises. A written complaint has already been lodged at the Gaekwad Police Station, supported by CCTV footage and a video recording captured by the temple priest, Kamlesh Raval, as evidence.
Through this peaceful demonstration, the devotees and local community aimed to draw the attention of the police authorities and local administration to the seriousness of the issue and urged that strict legal action be taken against the accused to prevent such offenses in the future.
The temple trust further appealed for heightened security measures to protect the temple and its devotees, ensuring that such incidents are not repeated. The gathering concluded with chants of devotion and unity — “Har Har Mahadev!” — symbolizing faith, peace, and collective resolve
