An Employment Fair under the aegis of the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), Dept of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (Ministry of Defence), conducted at Air Force Station Tambaram, Chennai, on Friday received overwhelming response from the corporates and veterans, says a Defence release.
The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr Niten Chandra, IAS, Secretary, ESW.

The primary objective of the employment fair was to enhance awareness among corporates and industries regarding the availability of trained and skilled human resources in the form of retiring and retired Armed Forces personnel. A total of 580 veterans and 52 corporates participated in the fair, in addition to officials and organising personnel from the three Services, the Directorate General Resettlement, and the Ministry of Defence.


The employment fair served as a significant platform for fostering interaction between veterans and the corporate sector. It enabled enhanced exposure for the retiring and retired personnel while providing industries with an opportunity to access a pool of disciplined, experienced and professionally trained individuals.
