Atharvaa Murali, one of the highly skilled Tamil actors, is all set to make his OTT debut with the new Hotstar Original series called ‘Mathagam’. ‘Jai Bhim’ fame Manikandan is playing the parallel lead in this thriller show. This series will stream on Disney Plus Hotstar very soon.

The makers launched the first look poster and teaser of the series on Wednesday. The 74-second teaser shows Atharvaa as Ashwath Rathnakumar, a cop and Manikandan as a killer with a powerful voice over by veteran actress Radhika Sarathkumar.
Apart from Atharvaa, Manikandan and Nikhila Vimal the series will also feature a host of other actors including ace director Gautham Menon, Dilnaz Irani, Ilavarasu, DD (Dhivyadarshini), Vadivukarasi, Aruvi Thirunavukkarasu, Munnar Ramesh, Sarath Ravi, Rishikanth and Murali Abbas.
‘Mathagam’ in Tamil means the forehead of an elephant. The mighty animal uses its forehead for both offense and defense.
Talking about the series, director Prasath Murugesan says, “Mathagam showcases a gripping sequence of thrilling developments that take place over a period of 30 hours.
“As a director, I found challenging, the task of showcasing a planned siege happening one night and the efforts that are taken to defeat it. I hope this will be a very enjoyable experience for the audience.”
The music for the series is by Darbuka Siva, Cinematography by Edwin Sakay and editing is by Praveen Antony.
Popular stunt master Dhilip Subbarayan has choreographed the explosive action sequences in the series, which has art direction by Suresh Kallery.
