COIMBATORE, JAN 26

Continuing his tirade against the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, DMK president M K Stalin on Tuesday squarely blamed it for the passage of the three farm laws in Parliament, leading to the 60-day old agitation by farmers near Delhi.

If the AIADMK had opposed the draconian laws, it would not have been passed in Parliament and would not have led to the present situation, Stalin told party workers here.

— M.K.Stalin (@mkstalin) January 26, 2021

He condemned the alleged lathicharge on farmers while taking out their tractor rally in Delhi. Carrying sticks and clubs and holding the tricolour and union flags, tens of thousands of farmers atop tractors broke barriers, clashed with police, and entered Delhi from various points to lay siege to the Red Fort on Republic day.

AIADMK was to be blamed for this situation as the laws would not have been passed if it had opposed them, he alleged.

Though the Centre had held talks with the farmers, they were only eyewash, he claimed.

Accusing the AIADMK government of corruption, Stalin asked his party workers whether they were ready to oust the ruling party in the coming elections.

“I am ready. Are you?” he asked.
