A day after 15 former AIADMK MLAs and one ex-MP of DMK joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), one of the leading media groups, India Today Group, has predicted a clean sweep for the INDIA bloc in Tamil Nadu at the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The survey predicts DMK-Congress combine’s victory on all 39 Lok Sabha seats.

Despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Bhagiratha effort’ to woo Tamil voters by invoking Tamil pride, BJP TN unit chief K Annamalai’s ‘EnMannEnMakkal’ yatra, the saffron party faces uphill task to set up its base in Tamil Nadu. BJP had planned to invade TN by fielding Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Rameshwaram to cash in on his popularity. Political pundits predict that Modi won’t take any risk.

The Mood of the Nation survey projected 47% vote share for DMK-Congress combine in Tamil Nadu and BJP-led NDA could garner 15% vote share.
The Mood of the Nation’s February 2024 edition is based on a survey of 35,801 respondents in all Lok Sabha seats.
NDA had failed to score a win a Lok Sabha seat from Tamil Nadu in 2019 general election and the MOTN poll suggests that the NDA would not have much success in the southern state this time either.
The Mood of the Nation poll was conducted between December 15, 2023 and January 28, 2024.
Lok Sabha elections are going to be held soon. In this case, the BJP is planning to win the upcoming parliamentary elections and create a hat-trick record. Also, BJP has started election work with the aim of getting Prime Minister Modi to take charge as the Prime Minister for the 3rd time with a record 400 seats.
Similarly, the opposition parties have formed the ‘INDIA’ bloc in an effort to defeat the BJP. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s United Janata Dal has left the “INDIA” bloc and joined hands with the BJP. There are now a total of 27 parties in the “INDIA” bloc.
With respect to the ‘INDIA’ bloc, the state-wise block-sharing negotiations have started. In many states including Kerala, there has been a problem between the ‘INDIA’ bloc parties regarding the division of seats. But as far as Tamil Nadu is concerned, there is no such thing till now. As far as Tamil Nadu is concerned, the ‘INDIA’ bloc is the ruling DMK alliance.
Currently, the alliance talks with each party in the DMK alliance have started. By the end of this month, the block allocation will be completed smoothly. Similarly, AIADMK and BJP have also started talks with party leaders to form a strong alliance in Tamil Nadu.
Seeman’s Naam Tamilar Party (NTP) is going to go solo as usual. As a result, in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, a four-corner contest is going to take place in Tamil Nadu, namely the ‘INDIA’ bloc led by the DMK, the AIADMK alliance, the BJP-led alliance and the Seeman parties.
