docPPD – an innovative public health solution registered under Start Up India Initiative – has rolled out its Low Cost Tele Health Services (LCTHS) complying the latest guidelines of government of India with a view to provide family doctor consultations using technology and innovation for people across the country.
The services are currently available on docOPD website and mobile Apps and over 2,700 free tele-health consultations have already been conducted over the last 10 days since the service was launched, says a release on Wednesday.
Accessibility to basic services such as health has become the biggest challenge due to restriction in movement and the nationwide lockdown. Public health services for the needy and poor have been hugely impacted and the threat of transmission of coronavirus is looming as the biggest disaster globally.
“COVID-19 epidemic has wrecked the current health infrastructure at every level for basic primary healthcare; therefore, the need to deliver quick tele-health services is well accepted and approved by the Government of India in their recent tele-consultation guidelines” said Vijender Singh Bisht, Co-Founder, docOPD
“Amid current situation the whole world is facing, we are committed to deliver mobile app based quick tele-health consultation from family doctor consultation using technology & innovation, playing a crucial role in delivery of primary health services minimizing risk of transmission to general population and also health workers,” added Abhishek Kumar, Co-Founder, docOPD
docOPD is a low-cost tele-health platform for the needy and less privileged people. It is an innovative and unique program in the current time to help people solve their biggest concern to have access to qualified and licenced doctors from the comfort of their homes at zero cost.
Both the Co-Founders of docOPD – Vijender Bisht and Abhishek Kumar are passionate about making healthcare accessible and affordable using innovative methods to improve public health services, the release added.
