Ajatshatru Somani, Additional Director General, Telecommunications inaugurated the Telecom Gallery of The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Gujarat Licensed Service Area (LSA), here on Tuesday. The gallery aims to educate stakeholders about India’s transformative telecom initiatives and citizen-centric services.

Designed as a Knowledge Hub, the Telecom Gallery showcases key policies and services for Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Telecom Service Providers (TSP), Machine-to-Machine Service Providers (M2MSP), Infrastructure Providers (IP-1) and citizens. The gallery showcases key policies and services for both ease of undertaking business initiatives and enhances the telecom experience for all users.
The Indian Telecom Act 2023 showcases how this landmark law replaces the 138-year-old Telegraph Act, which brings telecom regulations into the modern era with elaborate security measures.
Another unique initiative showcases communication partner telecom tools designed to empower citizens with telecom transparency and fraud prevention capabilities. The PM-Vani (Prime Minister’s Wi-Fi Access Network Interface) exhibition showcases efforts to democratise internet access across India.

Speaking at the inauguration, Ajatashatru Somani stressed on the role of the gallery in educating stakeholders about the recent developments in India’s telecom landscape and highlighted how it will serve as a bridge between policy initiatives and their implementation.
The telecom gallery represents DoT Gujarat’s commitment to transparent communication with all telecom stakeholders. By providing detailed information about initiatives like Sanchar Saathi, which aims to secure telecom resources and create a spam-free environment. In which the gallery plays an important educational role. It is expected to be a valuable resource for anyone who wants to understand India’s evolving telecom ecosystem and the opportunities it presents.
