In order to preserve their unique identity, students of DPS East and KFS Ghatlodia joyfully celebrated International Mother Language Day on Friday, 21st February.
Dressed in vibrant traditional attires, students proudly held placards representing the many languages spoken across the country. The event highlighted the importance of preserving mother tongues while promoting unity and cultural pride and also showcased India’s rich linguistic diversity.
The celebrations served as a reminder that language is not just a way to communicate, but a bridge to history, heritage and shared values. The International Mother Language Day, observed every year on February 21, promotes linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism. It was first announced by UNESCO on November 17, 1999, and formally recognised by the United Nations General Assembly in 2002.
