Padma Bhushan Dr A Sivathanu Pillai, Former Chief Controller, R & D, DRDO & Founder CEO & MD of BrahMos Aerospace inaugurated “Project Day 2023” at SRM Group of Institution, Ramapuram Campus, Chennai (Easwari Engineering College, SRM Institute of Science and Technology and SRM Dental College) in Ramapuram campus recently.
The main objective of organising this two-day event was to bring out the hidden innovative product development talents of the young Engineers and Dentists.
- Over 4,000 school students visited and witness the innovative Projects
- More than 300 highly innovative projects covering different branches of Engineering, Technology, Dental, Management and Film Technology were showcased by students
- All the projects were adjudicated by eminent jury and were awarded attractive cash prizes
More than 300 highly innovative projects covering different branches of Engineering, Technology, Dental, Management and Film Technology were showcased by students with lot of youthful exuberance. More than 4000 visitors from around 40 schools of different parts of city attended and witnessed the exhibits.
In his inaugural address Dr A Sivathanu Pillai highlighted the importance of new innovation in the current scenario which is very much essential for improving the quality in all aspects. He emphasized the importance of developing the infrastructure for the rural students and also said Chandrayaan-3 rocket will be launched soon. Dr Pillai complemented the college management for conducting the Project Day in bringing the talent from the youngster and advised the students to concentrate more on innovation of new ideas.
The projects designed were eco-friendly with high-end technology. Prototype models were displayed for all projects. Multidisciplinary projects drew a lot of attraction for their innovation and application. All the projects were adjudicated by eminent jury and were awarded attractive cash prizes.
The function was presided over by Dr R Shivakumar, Chairman, SRM Group of Institutions, Ramapuram and Trichy campuses, S Niranjan, Co-Chairman, SRM Group of Institutions, Ramapuram and Trichy campuses, Dr N Sethuraman, Chief Director, SRM Group of Institutions, Ramapuram and Trichy campuses, Dr V Subbiah Bharathi, Director, Ramapuram Campus, Dr.Uppa Ramachandraiah, Dean (Research), Teacher, staff and students were present at the event.
