Renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Mehul Vinodray Mashkaria, along with his wife Dr. Hina Mehul Mashkaria, a leading gynecologist, hosted a historic spiritual celebration. On the occasion of Dr. Mashkaria’s 60th birthday, a “Shashtipoorthi Mahayagna Mahapuja” was organized on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 9 am to 2 pm at Somnath Mahadev Temple, near Shastrinagar Bridge, Giyaspur, Ahmedabad.
A Rare Gathering of 39 Families for Collective Yagna
What made this event truly unique was that 39 fortunate family members and friends, all nearing the age of 60, along with 8 immediate relatives and 60 Brahmins, participated in their own individual Yagna Kunds, performing the traditional Shashtipoorthi Puja and Ugrarath Shanti Yagna together. Friends and relatives from USA and London also flown in to witness and participate in the ceremony.
Conducted by Eminent Priests
The Mahayagnawas organized under the guidance of Dr. Yogeshwar Shastri and his team of 60 Brahmins. While individuals often perform Shashtipoorthi separately, this was the first-ever instance in India where 39 couple have collectively performed the ritual together. To recognize its uniqueness, representatives from Unique World Records was presented to document the event.
Dr. Yogeshwar Shastri remarked: “Shashtipoorthi is a sacred milestone, where one expresses gratitude for the first 60 years of life and seeks blessings for a righteous, healthy, and spiritually fulfilling journey ahead. This was the first time in the world that 39 people simultaneously performed this ritual together, making it not only historic but also spiritually elevating. Such collective Sankalp amplifies divine vibrations and blessings for all participants.”

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Mehul Mashkaria said: “I consider myself truly blessed to reach this milestone surrounded by family, friends, and spiritual guides. This Mahayagna is not just a personal celebration, but a collective offering of gratitude for the abundance we have received. I pray that the coming years allow me to dedicate myself more fully to seva, good health, and noble causes that benefit society. The presence of my near and dear ones makes this occasion even more meaningful.”
Jain Family Pilgrimage to Follow
As a devout Jain, Dr. Mehul Mashkaria has also planned a two-day family pilgrimage following the Mahayagna. Around 170 Jain relatives will accompany him to Jirawala Parshwanath, Rajasthan, covering the sacred Panchatirth (five Jain pilgrimage sites).
A Celebration of Gratitude and Resolve
This Shashtipoorthi Mahayagna and pilgrimage symbolize a thanksgiving to the Almighty for the blessings of wealth, health, position, and prestige over the past 60 years. It also marks a pledge for a future dedicated to noble deeds, divine service, and healthy living with the blessings of the Lord.
