Immediate past Vice-President of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) Dr P Ashok Sigamani has been elected as President unanimously at its 90th Annual General Meeting held at its premises on Saturday morning.
Other office-bearers unanimously elected were: Vice President – Adam Sait; Honorary Secretary – R I Palani; Honorary Joint Secretary – K Shivakumar; Honorary Assistant Secretary – Dr R N Baba and Honorary Treasurer – T J Srinivasaraj.
All office-bearers were elected unanimously after S Prabhu, Durgampudi Siva Kesava Reddy and R R Kalidas Vandayar withdrew their nominations unconditionally and also undertook to withdraw all the legal cases filed by them challenging the election process, said a release.
The General Body has unanimously approved the Pension Scheme of Rs. 10,000/- per month for retired First Class Cricketers who have played between 10 and 24 Matches for Tamil Nadu.
Dr D Chandrasekaran, IAS (Retd.), retired State Election Commissioner was appointed as the Electoral officer.
Valid nominations were received for the following posts: For the post of President, 2 (two) Candidates filed nomination. Vice President, only one candidate filed nomination. Honorary Secretary, only one candidate filed nomination. Honorary Joint Secretary, 2 (two) Candidates filed nomination. Honorary Assistant Secretary, 2 (two) Candidates filed nomination. Honorary Treasurer, only one candidate filed nomination.
For the Apex Council Members (Six Elected Clubs from City of Chennai & Three Elected District Cricket Associations), 9 (nine) candidates filed nomination and 9 (nine).

Retired Justice Parthiban was appointed as the Ethics officer and Ombudsman to the TNCA.
The TNCA thanked the retired Justice Kannan who was the Ethics Officer and Ombudsman for his services from 2019-22, the release added.
