AHMEDABAD, APR 2
Rain or shine the traffic police have been continue to perform their duties well in the larger interest of the citizens of Gujarat in general and Ahmedabad in particular. They face a lot of professional hazards and also get infected with various ailments caused by vehicular and air pollution. And above all, 1 to 2 percent of them are afflicted with migraine owing to irregular food habits and stress.
When we are staying in the comforts of our homes, Corona frontline warriors like doctors and policemen have risen to the occasion and many of them have sacrificed their lives. It is the responsibility of the citizens to show their gratitude to them in one way or other. Dr Prerak Shah of Ayulink in Navrangpura has joined hands with the Ahmedabad Traffic Police and holding a fortnight-long free migraine diagnosis camp — from 1st April to 14th April between 10 am and 1:30 pm. More than 150 traffic police having migraine and headache problems will be covered in this camp. Ayurvedic medicines and other treatments will be given to them so that they lead a healthy life. Apart from diagnosis they will be counselled on diet, lifestyle changes, said Dr Shah.
When asked why did he choose this special camp for the traffic policemen, Dr Prerak Shah (Ayurveda) said, “In my 32 years experience, I have seen the highest number of migraine cases during summer season and among them traffic police are the most affected. Their daily life; irregular eating and walking amidst dust, smoke, noise pollution and sunlight make them more prone to this disease. Along with this disease, anger, tension and anxiety are also prevalent among them. I have taken this initiative today so that their problems can be properly treated. I will get rid of this disease by giving treatment to everyone using my skill and long experience.”
Elaborating on migraine and its treatment, he said that 1 in every 7 people in the world is suffering from migraine. Among all forms of medicare, the special Ayurveda treatment followed by Ayuink has given efficacious remedy to migraine or headache patients in the last 2-3 years. Therefore, this camp has been organized with the aim of providing specific treatment to all in the future.
To a query, he said, “This is our first edition of the free migraine check-up camp. We will make it a regular one over the years and will replicate all over Gujarat with like-minded Ayurvedic practitioners.”
On this occasion, Ahmedabad ACP (Traffic) Akash Patel said, “We, Ahmedabad police, have joined hands with Dr. Prerna Shah. Many policemen suffer from this disease due to their daily routine and have difficulty in performing their duties. We are hopeful that such ayurvedic treatment will be beneficial.”
