AHMEDABAD, JULY 25
With festivals like Raksha Bandhan and Navratri around, Aapnu Amdavadi women gear up their search for best tailors to dress them up well to impress and express their loved ones. Now, tech-savvy women can submit measurements online or at the comfort of their home, and also have the final product delivered, sans the need to visit a boutique. Other women can visit an Exclusive Brand Outlet, Fakt Mahilao Mate (only for women), in upmarket Prahladnagar or South Bopal to place their orders.
D2C & personalized fashion solutions platform CloudTailor, which caters to women alone, on Monday announced its robust expansion mode into Gujarat for consumers looking for stylish, personalised and hassle free fashion, all at one place. This launch is with the intent to redefine the concept of traditional tailoring and provide a more comfortable and hassle free experience to stitch any outfit in any design and style.
The new branded outlet and Fashion Fulfillment Centre is a franchisee owned by Divya Patel who has collaborated with the founder Susmitha Lakkakula, bringing forth a combined women entrepreneurial force, a purpose led association that CloudTailor aims to build a strong foundation on, in support of women in the coming years. CloudTailor launched one fulfillment center-cum-exclusive brand outlet at I-74, Titanium Centre Mall in Prahladnagar and another EBO in South Bopal which will be owned by Divya Patel.
The 200 sq ft store is a cozy, natural space with a mix of contemporary & minimalist design styles. It has a clean and organic mood board with arches, bright lights, clean spaces, and neutral undertone, to not overpower the outfits/fabrics in the store. For an uninterrupted experience, a community style table is placed at the center of the store where in-house stylists and fashion consultants welcome customers to discuss styles, current trends, fabric, cuts, measurements and pick on the perfect design for a made-to-measure order or to deliberate the same on the CloudTailor app as well at the store. Furthermore, the store is equipped with a sewing machine for basic alterations along with fabric swatches of their fabric marketplace partners, accessories and embellishments for customers to choose from.
Speaking with navjeevanexpress.com, Susmitha Lakkakula, Founder – CloudTailor on launching the all new EBO in Ahmedabad, says “I am ecstatic to share this news with everyone. We received stupendous response on our first Hyderabad EBO, and we’re hoping the same with every new expansion that we have in the pipeline. Our EBO ideas are very simple, we want to offer tailoring experiences like never before. The gap between consumer expectation and available solutions is what helped us conceive this idea. We are operating on a phygital model and physical experience centers are an important part of our omnichannel strategy. EBOs will play a very crucial role by allowing customers who are digitally naive to get comfortable with our model, experience hassle free service and sustain stickiness.”
“The Indian tailoring market is estimated to be pegged at ₹28,000 crore, growing at 12% year-on-year. Traditional tailoring is an unorganised industry. With the introduction of online tailoring, players like us are trying to organise the sector with tech support, bringing convenience to customers,” says Susmitha Lakkakula.
“It is a spin to the traditional form of tailoring where the customer doesn’t need to go through the hassle of visiting the tailor, and instead can access services digitally. Customers can place their orders online through their phone, laptop or tab,” explains Lakkakula.
On expansion plans, Susmitha says, “CloudTailor plans to open over 100 EBOs in 24 cities all over the country over a period of eight to 12 months. Out of which 30 EBOs will come up in Gujarat in all major cities, including 10 in Ahmedabad. The cost of each EBO will be Rs 10 lakh. Earlier this year, we have raised Pre Series A investments from venture capitals – 35North Ventures along with Mergerdomo.”
Stitch in time
Answering a query on delivery period, Susmitha says, normally we take 5 to 7 days for stitching and delivery and in special cases we do deliver in 24 hours. However, in some cases which need delicate handwork, it will take 20 days too.
On partnering with CloudTailor, Divya Patel – Franchise owner said, “ I am very elated with this association. Since my childhood I have always loved designing my own outfits, taking inspiration from my mother who has been in this field for 35+ years. I decided to do something which I really love and this is how I came across CloudTailor. The concept of CloudTailor is very interesting and unique. It gives you the freedom of being your own designer or having an expert fashion designer. I would like to thank Susmitha for putting her trust in me for this franchise and we are looking forward to doing some amazing work together.”
