Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami will inaugurate the former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s memorial on the shores of Marina here on January 27, said a DIPR release.

Incidentally, the inauguration coincides with the expected release of Jaya’s former aide VK Sasikala from Parappana Agraharam prison in Bengaluru on the same day after the imprisonment of 4 years in the disproportionate asset case initiated by AIADMK’s arch-rival DMK.
Earlier, talks were on the air in political circles that AMMK Chief and MLA TTV Dinakaran is making arrangements for a grand gala welcome for Sasikala on her release from the prison. And straight from prison, Sasikala is expected to visit Jaya’s memorial to pay respect on January 27.
Meanwhile, the chief minister had categorically said that his party would not have any relations with the ‘tainted’ Sasikala. For the party, principles were more important than power, he added.
