Exercise NCC Yogdan Day-18: Braving scorching sun, NCC Cadets help Gujarat contain COVID

AHMEDABAD, APRIL 25

The NCC Directorate Gujarat has been continuing to deploy a total of 578 cadets, 61 ANOs, and 79 Permanent Instructors in 26 towns covering 20 districts in Gujarat for the 18th consecutive day. Over 22 units drawn from all the five Group HQs — Ahmedabad, Rajkot, VV Nagar, Vadodara, and Jamnagar — have been deployed in support of the Civil Administration towards its fight against COVID-19, a Defence spokesman said on Saturday.

Ahmedabad Mayor Bijal Patel was presented 1,000 homemade masks by volunteer cadets of 1 Gujarat Girls NCC Battalion for distribution among the needy under Exercise NCC Yogdan. Similarly, 1,000 masks have been handed over to  Anand District Collector R G Gohil by the cadets while they also distribute masks personally at various places, the release added.

Also, the cadets who could not be deployed for various reasons are actively involved on social media and circulating a large number of educational videos and messages, including usage of the Arogya Setu app and stitching homemade masks for the benefit of the people and other cadets.

The volunteer cadets, before being employed on the ground in a COVID Warrior role are being adequately empowered with suitable basic training or orientation conducted by the NCC supervisors as well as the representatives of the police stations of various districts. The cadets are also imparted training on importance of all COVID precautions, dos’ and don’ts, handling and usage of various protective equipment, Arogya Setu app decontamination process and maintaining social-distancing during deployment.

“It has been ensured that the volunteer cadets are adequately protected with protective clothing and equipment while being deployed.  They are being employed as a cohesive group of 3 to 20 cadets, under the supervision of ANO and /or uniformed staff. The Coordination Cell at the Directorate remains in continuous touch with the Nodal officers and receives regular inputs on the deployment and other activities,” the spokesman added.

The efforts have been appreciated by the Civil administration. The commitment displayed by the cadets, ANOs, and PI staff and all officers of the Gujarat Directorate has been commendable. The morale and motivation level of the personnel are very high.

અમદાવાદના મેયર શ્રીમતિ બિજલ પટેલે NCC યોગદાન ક્વાયત હેઠળ જરૂરિયાતમંદ લોકોને ગુજરાત ગર્લ્સ NCC બટાલિયન 1ના સ્વયંસેવક કેડેટ્સ દ્વારા ઘરે બનાવેલા 1,000 માસ્કનું વિતરણ કર્યુ હતું.

ગુજરાતના NCC ડાયરેક્ટોરેટે કોવિડ-19 સામેની લડાઇમાં નાગરિક વહીવટીતંત્રની સહાયતા માટે છેલ્લા 18 દિવસોથી વિવિધ નગરોમાં સ્વયંસેવક કેડેટ્સની નિયુક્તી કરવાનું ચાલુ રાખ્યું છે. વર્તમાન સમયે ગુજરાતના 20 જિલ્લાઓને આવરી લેતાં આશરે 26 નગરોમાં 578 કેડેટ્સ, 61 ANO અને 79 કાયમી ઇન્સ્ટ્રક્ટરની નિયુક્તિ કરવામાં આવી છે. ગુજરાત ડાયરેક્ટોરેટ અંતર્ગત અમદાવાદ, રાજકોટ, વલ્લભ વિદ્યાનગર, વડોદરા અને જામનગર ખાતે આવેલા તમામ પાંચ ગ્રૂપ મુખ્યમથકો તેમની હેઠળ આવેલા યુનિટ્સમાંથી કેડેટ્સને નિયુક્ત કરવાની પ્રક્રિયામાં સામેલ છે. નિયુક્તિ પ્રક્રિયામાં 22થી વધારે યુનિટ્સનો સમાવેશ થાય છે. આ ટીમોને ટ્રાફિક સંચાલન, કતાર વ્યવસ્થાપન, ખાદ્યચીજોના વિતરણ અને કોવિડ-19થી બચવા માટે કેવી સાવચેતી રાખવી તે અંગે લોકોને સમજણ પુરી પાડવાની પ્રવૃત્તિમાં નિયુક્ત કરવામાં આવી છે.

વધુમાં, જે કેડેટ્સની વિવિધ કારણોસર નિયુક્તિ કરી શકાઇ નથી તેઓ સોશિયલ મીડિયા ઉપર સક્રીયપણે સંકળાયેલા છે અને તેઓ આરોગ્ય સેતૂ એપના ઉપયોગ અને લોકો તથા અન્ય કેડેટ્સના લાભાર્થે ઘરે બનાવેલા માસ્ક બનાવવા સહિતના શૈક્ષણિક વીડિયો અને સંદેશાઓનો મોટી સંખ્યામાં ફેલાવો કરી રહ્યાં છે. આણંદ જિલ્લાના કલેક્ટર આર.જી. ગોહિલને કેડેટ્સ દ્વારા તૈયાર કરાયેલા 1,000 માસ્ક સુપરત કરવામાં આવ્યાં હતા. કેડેટ્સ વિવિધ સ્થળોએ વ્યક્તિગત રીતે ઘરે બનાવેલા માસ્કનું પણ વિતરણ કરી રહ્યાં છે.

સ્વયંસેવક કેડેટ્સને કોવિડ યોદ્ધાઓની ભૂમિકામાં જે-તે સ્થળ ઉપર નિયુક્ત કરતાં પહેલા NCC સુપરવાઇઝરની સાથે સાથે વિવિધ જિલ્લાઓના પોલીસ સ્ટેશનના પ્રતિનિધિઓ દ્વારા હાથ ધરાયેલી મૂળભૂત ઓરિએન્ટેશન તાલીમથી પુરતાં પ્રમાણમાં સુસજ્જ કરવામાં આવ્યાં હતા. કેડેટ્સને કોવિડ સામેની તમામ સાવધાનીઓ, કોવિડ સામેની જંગમાં જરૂરી અને બિનજરૂરી પ્રવૃત્તિઓ, વિવિધ સંરક્ષણાત્મક ઉપકરણોને ચલાવવા અને તેના ઉપયોગ, આરોગ્ય સેતૂ એપ, ચેપમુક્તિની પ્રક્રિયા અને નિયુક્તિ દરમિયાન સામાજિક અંતર જાળવવા અંગેના મહત્ત્વ વિશે પણ તાલીમ પુરી પાડવામાં આવી હતી.

તે બાબત સુનિશ્ચિત કરવામાં આવી હતી કે પોતાની નિયુક્તિ દરમિયાન સ્વયંસેવક કેડેટ્સ સંરક્ષણાત્મક કપડાં અને સાધનો દ્વારા પુરતાં પ્રમાણમાં રક્ષિત હોય. તેમની ANO અને/અથવા ગણવેશ સહિતના સ્ટાફની દેખરેખ હેઠળ 3થી 20 કેડેટ્સના સંયોજક જૂથ તરીકે નિયુક્તિ કરવામાં આવે છે. ડાયરેક્ટોરેટ ખાતે આવેલું સંકલન કેન્દ્ર નોડલ અધિકારીઓ સાથે સતત સંપર્કમાં રહે છે અને નિયુક્તિ અને અન્ય પ્રવૃતિઓ વિશે નિયમિત માહિતી પ્રાપ્ત કરે છે.

 

Vehicle checking underway in Himmatnagar. – NE photoનાગરિક વહીવટીતંત્ર દ્વારા આ પ્રયાસોની ખૂબ જ પ્રશંસા કરવામાં આવી છે. કેડેટ્સ, ANO અને PI સ્ટાફ તથા ગુજરાત ડાયરેક્ટોરેટ ખાતે તમામ અધિકારીઓએ દ્વારા દર્શાવવવામાં આવેલી પ્રતિબદ્ધતા પ્રશંસનીય છે. આ કામગીરી સાથે જોડાયેલા તમામ સ્ટાફમાં નૈતિક અને પ્રેરણાત્મક સ્તર પણ ખૂબ જ ઊંચુ છે.
