GANDHINAGAR, JULY 8

In a significant step towards strengthening Gandhinagar’s urban infrastructure and improving connectivity to one of the city’s prominent places of worship, Mayor Mira Patel on Tuesday performed the bhumi poojan for the construction of a new approach road at Sector-1 Ch-Road, leading to the Gayatri Mata Temple.

The project forms part of the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation’s continuing efforts to provide safer, more efficient and citizen-friendly road infrastructure while supporting the city’s expanding traffic requirements.

The new approach road will connect Ch-Road to the entrance of Gayatri Mata Temple in Sector-1. Besides the roadway, the project will include the development of footpaths, a median, plantation and a stormwater drainage network to ensure improved pedestrian safety, better traffic management and efficient rainwater disposal.

Addressing the gathering, Mayor Mira Patel said the Gayatri Mata Temple is one of Gandhinagar’s important centres of faith, attracting a large number of devotees and vehicles every day.

“The new approach road will make traffic movement more systematic, reduce haphazard parking and provide smooth, safe and convenient access for local residents as well as thousands of devotees visiting the Gayatri Mata Temple,” she said.

The Mayor also directed officials to ensure that the project is executed with the highest standards of quality and reiterated that the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation remains committed to delivering infrastructure that enhances the city’s overall development and improves the quality of life for its citizens.
