Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the State is heading for a lockdown till March 31 and will match stride by stride with the country to handle the fight against Covid-19.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said interstate borders will be sealed, public transport will be stopped, cinema halls and malls will be shut along with non-essential establishments while factories and offices will be running on skeleton staff on rotation basis.
A 100-bedded isolation homes will be set up at constituency level and the health workers village volunteer and para medics have the data of foreign returnees and will regularly be in touch with them.
For any emergency public can contact the helpline No. 104 and people should treat this as medical emergency and self regulate themselves.
Ration will be given on March 29 along with one kg dal, while Rs 1000 would be given to daily wage earners on April 4.
Thanking all the people involved in regulating people and collecting data besides ensuring home quarantine of foreign returnees and mapping their contacts.
So far six positive cases were recorded in the state of which one person was discharged after the treatment, the Chief Minister said.
CM claps to express gratitude to corona warriors
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy clapping hands outside his residence at 5 pm on Sunday to express solidarity said everyone is indebted to the medical staff, sanitation workers, police and emergency service staff who are working during the tough times to prevent the pandemic coronavirus.
In a tweet posted after clapping hands at his residence, Chief Minister said ‘I salute the indomitable spirit of our healthcare workers, army personnel, police & everyone out there working around the clock so that we are safe at our homes. We are indebted to them for their service during these tough times (sic).’
Supporting Modi’s call for Janatha Curfew, the Chief Minister has asked the state people to stay home till the curfew ends. Jagan Mohan Reddy has restricted himself at his residence and continuously reviewing the situation across the state with the top brass in the government.
Chief Secretary Neelam Sawhney, Health Minister Alla Nani, and other officials have accompanied Jagan Mohan Reddy while clapping at 5 pm in CM’s camp office.
