NE BUSINESS BUREAU
NEW DELHI, FEB 1

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman arrives at the Ministry of Finance with her team including the Minister of State for Finance Anurag Singh Thakur, ahead of the union budget 2020. She will be presenting her second Union Budget today. Sitharaman is repeating her ‘Bahi-Khata’ (ledger wrapped in a red-coloured cloth). She had discarded the briefcase for a traditional ‘Bahi-Khata’ last year for her first budget presentation. A huge pressure will be on the NDA govt and FM Sitharaman as India is facing its worst economic slowdown in a decade.
