National Institute of Siddha (NIS) & Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) will be conducting a first-of-its-kind Siddha Wellness Rally and Awareness Campaign (SWRAC), from New Delhi to Kanyakumari from 24th January 2024 to 12th February 2024. The rally will be conducted using 10 Enfield 350 CC Bullets.

The riders will be the Siddha Doctors and PG Scholars of both NIS and CCRS. The SWRAC is conducted for all India propagation of the Siddha system as part of the Siddha Day 2023 celebrations. The rally will be flagged off from New Delhi by Minister for Ayush, Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbanand Sonowal; Minister of State for Ayush, Women & Child Development Dr. Munjpara Mahendra Bhai; Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary (Ayush); Kavita Garg, Joint Secretary (Ayush);. B.K. Singh,Joint Secretary (Ayush); Prof. (Dr.) R. Meenakumari, Director, NIS & Director General (Addl. Charge), CCRS, higher officials from the Ministry of Ayush and many other VVIPs will be taking part in the Flag off ceremony.
Dr. Meenakumari informed that the SWRAC team will have halts at 21 cities in various states enroute. The team will conduct awareness camps and programmes, distribution of pamphlets, medi-kits, brochures, Siddha Medicine Kits, short speeches, etc., in the halt points in collaboration with regional agencies and regional participants & supporting team. The total duration of the SWRAC is expected to be 20 days.
The SWRAC will conclude at Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu wherein the MP, Ministers, MLAs, many Siddha stalwarts, VVIPs, Faculty & Senior Staff members of CCRS & NIS, Research & PG Scholars and faculty and students from various Siddha Medical colleges etc., will be taking part.
Distribution of free medicine kits will be done by the SWRAC team from start to finish in all the points. This will be a never before seen event for the propagation of the Siddha system of medicine which is one of the oldest systems of treatment which is a part of the Ayush systems that are getting prominence in the present scenario, stated Prof. Meenakumari.
