Chennai-based Fizix Solar Innovations, in collaboration with Switching Battery Inc, unveiled its groundbreaking SINGA Technology (Solar Integrated Next Gen Architecture) with the introduction of the Kinematic Charger KC5V.
This innovative charger, which was unveiled by the Tamil Nadu Climate Change Minister Siva Meyyanathan, is poised to revolutionize the way we power smartphones and other devices using compact solar energy, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7 for affordable and clean energy.
Revolutionary Technology for a Sustainable Future:
Imagine a smartphone that can be fully charged using a compact solar panel in just 90 minutes. This vision is now a reality with the Kinematic Charger KC5V, featuring the advanced Flow Through Energy Storage System (FT-ESS) with its tiny semiconductor chip that enables efficient, low-voltage solar charging.
- Tamil Nadu Climate Change Minister Siva Meyyanathan launches the Kinematic Charger KC5V
- The KC5VL is priced at just Rs. 2,000, with optional solar panels starting at Rs. 1,000, offering a sustainable energy solution at an accessible price
“Our tiny chip eliminates the need for bulky and expensive MPPT solar charge controllers, making solar charging for smartphones possible,” said Kannappan Chettiar, Founder and CEO of Switching Battery Inc., who holds 9 US patents in battery and renewable technology, 5 of which have already been granted for miniaturizing renewables by integrating them with energy storage. “We have also obtained our Indian patents and trademarks,” added . Chettiar.
Key Innovations and Benefits:
- Solar Powered Smartphones: By incorporating our semiconductor technology, smartphones like the iPhone 12’s 3,000mAh battery can be charged in just 45 minutes using compact solar panels. This groundbreaking capability redefines portable power, making sustainable energy accessible and convenient.
- Uninterrupted 24/7 Power Flow: The KC5V’s FT-ESS allows for simultaneous charging and discharging using solar, enabling FT-ESS capacity of up to 30,000mAh from 6,000mAh batteries.
- Compact and Portable: Weighing just 185 grams, the KC5V offers powerful, portable energy, ideal for various applications.
- Efficient Low Voltage Charging: Utilizing a low 4V input from 6V solar panels, our built-in semiconductor technology ensures efficient charging even in low irradiance conditions, eliminating the need for bulky MPPT solar charge controllers.
Innovative Product Models:
- KC5VL (Light): Provides uninterrupted 5V output, perfect for connecting with renewable energy sources, and features a built-in 600-lumen light.
- KC5VH (Handheld): Offers uninterrupted 5V output, plus additional 9V and 12V outputs, making it an ideal solution for various power needs.
Affordable and Eco-Friendly:
- Cost-Effective: The KC5VL is priced at just Rs. 2,000, with optional solar panels starting at Rs. 1,000, offering a sustainable energy solution at an accessible price.
- Eco-Friendly Power: The KC5V aligns with the UN’s SDG Goal 7 for affordable and clean energy, providing reliable power by leveraging natural energy sources like solar and wind.
Business Prospects:
The 5V chargers account for around 70-80% of all chargers used globally. This is due to the widespread adoption of USB charging for mobile devices, tablets, and other portable electronics. The company projects sales of 100,000 KC5V units by December 2024. Achieving this milestone will allow us to shift our focus towards teaching and licensing our extensive patent portfolio to smartphone manufacturers such as Apple and Samsung. These manufacturers are expected to license from us at $1 (Rs. 84) per phone to incorporate solar-powered technology into their 2026 models. Once the KC5V technology is integrated into smartphones, it has the potential to benefit several billion users globally, significantly contributing to the attainment of the UN’s SDG7 goal for affordable and clean energy for the masses.
Company Vision:
“We are reimagining the future of portable power with the Kinematic Charger KC5V. This technology not only makes solar-powered smartphones a reality but also sets a new standard for sustainable energy solutions,” said Cenobia Majella, CEO of Fizix Solar Innovations. “Our goal is to make electricity as accessible and essential as air and water in the 21st century.”
