Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla, ADC Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command accompanied by Sapana Chawla, President Navy Wives Welfare Association (Southern Region) [(NWWA) (SR)] visited INS Valsura, the premier Electrical Training Establishment of the Indian Navy for three days from Tuesday to Thursday, a Defence release said.

Post-wreath-laying ceremony on Wednesday, a 50 men Guard of Honour was presented to the Admiral at the establishment. During his visit, FOC-in-C (South) reviewed the progress of various infrastructure projects and training facilities of the establishment.
Whilst reviewing the efficacy of hands-on training and skill set of trainees, the Admiral appreciated the augmented training facilities in the field of Electrical, Weapons and Information Technology. The Flag Officer was also apprised on the various initiatives taken by the unit in the niche fields of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data & Analytics.
During his review of various Infrastructure projects, FOC-in-C (South) inaugurated 36-Single DSC Accommodation ‘Chand Block’, named as a tribute to Sepoy Jagdish Chand, Kirti Chakra (Posthumous) and 8 Single Officers accommodation.
Sapana Chawla, President NWWA (Southern Region) shared her thoughts on women empowerment and community living at a milan organised by ladies of NWWA (Valsura). Addressing the gathering, she complImented the ladies for strengthening the spirit of togetherness during the testing times and motivated them to develop their knowledge and skills in their area of interest.
Sapana Chawla inaugurated a number of projects which will enhance the quality of life in the station, including a three storey Shopping Centre named ‘Dwarika’, new Samudri complex, a new Saundarya and an Audio Visual Room at Naval Kindergarten.
The Admiral and President NWWA (SR) also witnessed the colourful Valsura Day celebrations and had Barakhana with Valsura Parivar. All events were undertaken within COVID protocols.
