The Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), a premier laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with solemn pride and patriotic spirit at its Avadi campus in Chennai on January 26, 2026.

On the occasion, J Rajesh Kumar, Outstanding Scientist and Director, CVRDE, unfurled the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem by all present, marking the formal commencement of the celebrations.
Addressing the gathering, the Director, CVRDE, recalled that on January 26, 1950, the world’s largest written Constitution came into force, shaping India’s democratic framework. He highlighted the unique features of the Indian Constitution and underscored its role in guiding the nation’s governance, values and institutions. Emphasising the importance of constitutional awareness, he encouraged the younger generation to read and understand the Indian Constitution, so as to appreciate the foundational principles on which the nation stands.
At #CVRDE, #ConstitutionDay was celebrated on 26 Nov '25 to commemorate adoption of Constitution of India. CVRDE scientists, officers & staff took affirmation to imbibe constitutional values & democratic conditions by reading the Preamble in the presence of Director, CVRDE.

The celebration witnessed the enthusiastic participation of CVRDE scientists, technical, administrative and allied officers, service officers, staff members and support teams, who exchanged Republic Day greetings and reaffirmed their shared commitment to defence innovation, national security and service to the nation.
The Republic Day observance reflected CVRDE’s enduring resolve to uphold constitutional values while advancing cutting-edge defence technologies in the service of a strong and self-reliant India.
