NE EDUCATION BUREAU
GANDHINAGAR, FEB 11

In a decisive push to integrate Artificial Intelligence with next-generation manufacturing, the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) will host a one-day intensive workshop titled “AI in Materials Processing” on February 16, 2026.

The programme is designed to unpack how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are reshaping materials research, industrial processing and quality control — from laboratory-scale innovation to large-scale manufacturing ecosystems.

Where Materials Science Meets Machine Intelligence

The workshop will introduce participants to the fundamentals, emerging applications and future possibilities of AI in materials processing. Expert talks, real-world case studies and guided hands-on sessions will demonstrate how AI-driven models are accelerating breakthroughs across:

  • Metals and alloy development
  • Polymer engineering
  • Advanced ceramics
  • Process optimisation and defect prediction
  • Data-driven quality assurance

Participants will gain practical exposure to core AI/ML concepts tailored specifically for materials science and manufacturing contexts, learning how experimental datasets and simulation outputs can be leveraged for predictive insights and performance optimisation.

Designed for Researchers and Industry Professionals

The workshop is curated for:

  • Graduate students and PhD scholars in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Industry professionals involved in materials processing and quality control
  • Faculty members and early-career researchers exploring AI-enabled research directions

Interactive sessions form a key component of the programme, and participants are required to bring their laptops for hands-on engagement.

The registration fee includes lunch, a workshop kit and a participation certificate.

Registration Details

  • Workshop Date: February 16, 2026
  • Registration Deadline: February 14, 2026 (5:00 PM)
