The former south zone secretary of NFNE Parvathy Mahadevan, passed away recently in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Parvathy, (73) who was South Zone Secretary for National Federation of Newspaper Employees (NFNE), Chennai, since 1994 and staff of The Financial Express is survived by a son and two daughters.
She attained Mukti after visiting Mukthinath in October 2023. She was settled in the US with her son and was on a visit to India. She was on a pilgrimage. After visiting Ayodhya she developed complications and was rushed to a private hospital in Lucknow. She breathed her last on October 20.
She is remembered for her services to non-journalists movement during wage board time, said E Gopal, former IFWJ executive and President of the Hindu Group Employees Union. IFWJ US West President, Narasimhan Kasthuri, who expressed shock said, “She will be greatly missed for her sense of dedication and concern for others.”
