With 1.35 billion people and the world’s third-largest economy in purchasing power parity terms, India’s recent growth has been a significant achievement. Since independence in 1947, a landmark agricultural revolution has transformed the nation from chronic dependence on grain imports into an agricultural powerhouse that is now a net exporter of food. And the Centre’s AtmaNirbhar Bharat initiative is boosting its export potential despite the onslaught of the pandemic.
At a time when global economies are dwindling with uncertainties, but India’s economic growth is being predicted to get stronger, say various recent studies.
To deliberate on this growth story, the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) is organising a very pertinent and engaging interactive session on “India as a Driver of Global Growth”, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 5 to 7 pm, at the Jasubhai Memorial Auditorium, IITGN. The interactive session is open to all.
The event is going to have an exciting line-up of international speakers from diverse fields, including Glenn Carle, Retired Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Officer and former US Deputy National Intelligence Officer; Prof Atul Singh, Founder, CEO & Editor-in-Chief of Fair Observer, ex-IPS officer, Visiting Professor at IITGN; Prof Neeldhara Misra, Amba and VS Sastry, Chair Associate Professor, Computer Science and Engineering at IITGN; Sunil Parekh, Founding Curator at AGS, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, Geneva, and Member of FICCI National Executive Council; and Soundarajan Narendran, Ex-Executive Apollo Tyres & TVS Group, Eminent Data Scientist, and Senior Policy Wonk.
Christopher Roper Schell, US Congressional Candidate 2020 and partner at Fair Observer Intelligence will moderate the session. They will discuss various aspects of the changing global scenario and enlighten the audience about India’s strongholds and importance in the world economy.
